Camping and Little Piggies
Interesting title, I know. But I wanted to mention that we went on a camping trip last weekend with some friends from the Carrollton Ward(which I prolly spelled wrong). It was a whole lotta fun, and I hope we do it every year. We got there late enough to have to put our tent up in the dark, which wasn't a problem for us since we've done that before. The next day we spent visiting with friends and swimming. That evening we all sat by the bonfire, listening to music provided by yours truly and roasting marshmallows. It was so cool. Also that night, a very loud and scary thunderstorm camped with us, but it didn't wake the children. However it did leak through the roof and floor of our tent. Luckily I had bought two of those body-length pool floats to fit into our sleeping bags, so after we fixed the leak from above, we just went back to sleep on our floats, staying dry. Adam was inspired to bring the extra tarp, because that's what he put over our tent to stop that leak.

Now on to the piggies- Tripp has found his toes and it is sooooo cute! He sucks on his big toes.

More pictures of Tripp

I had to add some crazy ones of Erick also!
This is his "security sleeve". If he doesn't have mine, or anyone else's, he will use his own. Ha ha, I even put a T-shirt on his huge Elmo doll to try and help him sleep in his bed. It works sometimes.

Father's Day
So most of you know that my father lives with us. He is only staying for a few months, hopefully. It is so hard for me, but I am working on it. I know that Heavenly Father is working with all of us here. But why? Do I really have to have a relationship with my dad? Can't I just keep the pleasantries that we've had most of my life? I am a note leaver, which means when something is bothering me and I don't trust myself to communicate it well, then I will write you a note. Which probably still leaves much to be desired, but it saves me from speaking first, thinking after, and apologizing later. I can do it all at once in a note, ha ha. I just don't want to "be real" with him, because it will be like 25 years of emotions exploding all at once in a million directions and I don't think our relationship could survive that much shrapnel damage. He is very special to the Lord, I know that and believe it, and it means so much to me to think that we really loved each other in the pre-existence and we knew each other well, and that in the next life we'll know why things were the way they were here. I'm really okay with that, so can I be off the hook? I went shopping for a Father's Day card, awkward seeing as the only cards for fathers were the ones that spoke of years of teaching, protecting, and etc. I kind of settled for a little kid card for him. I got a card that said on the front, What is a daddy?" I didn't catch the pun, but Adam sure thought it was funny. I don't think it came across that way, and I sure didn't want to. I tried to relay some of my most sensitive feelings to him in a non formal way. He said he liked it. I guess I compensated for my ineptitude by buying tons of stuff for Adam. He got the shirt, the pants, the tie, the watch, i.e. all that he has wanted in the past six to eight months. He is just a wonderful husband and father compared to, you know, what I know of those kinds of relationships. Not that I have ever compared him to my dad, but I compare it to my life, and I'm grateful to have him. I am also grateful for a wonderful father-in-law that was such a great example for Adam. And my mom is the most Christ-like person I know, to live in the same house with that man. I am so lucky to have her and for all those years, she got the card on Father's Day. Happy Father's Day Mom! I am getting to know my dad better, his good side that is- which is that he has his own way of caring and loving. You really can't expect an old dog to learn knew tricks, especially if the old ones are just personality traits. Does that sound bad? Maybe I'm learning more about him than I'd like, but I'm glad for it. But it has been the longest two months ever!

Slice and Dice
Erick just said, "I'm going to get you Mommy." That is so cute!!! So I walked really fast around the house while we both laughed hysterically. That's something that I really appreciate with Erick. He gets my maniacal humor. But it's really hard to type right now. I cut my pinky at work and you know, I thought it wouldn't be a problem, but I can see now that I use it a lot.

Painting the Barn-The Pictures are in!
I just came back from a really fun Mary Kay party, and yes I meant really fun. I mainly went just for the social aspect. I really like to hang out with friends, and to meet new ones. So thanks to Meranda Rockett and the products of the Mary Kay organization, I have gotten closer to some great women. And I shimmer. I actually bought some make-up. I still have the same make-up that I used in high school. I know that grosses out a lot of women, but it's probably really close to being true. I don't really remember buying any of it, meaning it was passed on to me from older sisters. That's a new one: Hand-me-down make-up. Now that sounds gross. I'm the proud owner of new "paint", so now I can really give my Mom a make over. I'll add pics later!
We had a lot of fun!

Kudos to all Moms

Wow. It is my second week watching my nieces and nephews and I tell you what. It's like having six kids. I get up at six, sometimes 6:55, and I get to their house by 8. Then it's a full day of one teenager, two drama queens, one five year-old rebel, and a toddler and baby, both in diapers. It's tough. The only thing tougher would be if I had to afford all the food that they consume. I totally love being close to them though. And I have an opportunity to hold scripture study with them, which went really well this week (hopefully next week will go well too). It's also a great learning experience for me. Training me for my family and future children to come. I realize that I yell a lot. I hate to admit it, but I do. And spankings were the common threat, until I had Tripp, and now Time-Out is the motivation to not to choose the wrong. Today for example, Jacob and I were cleaning the house, too bad it wasn't my own home, and Katie was outside with the boys. Next thing I know, she comes running in, telling me that James had turned the hose on and he and Erick were playing in the mud. They all got in trouble, including her for not keeping a better eye on them, but SHEESH! Tuesday I thought James would never live to see his 6th birthday, because he tried to pick up Tripp and dropped him. I was surprisingly calm, but that's because I sent James to his room before I could get over to where they were. I was pretty mad about it though, but I know James just wanted to play with him, obviously not remembering all the times that I have told him not to pick up the baby. I guess it was my fault for not telling him that day though. Tripp survived without bump or scrape, so I'm glad I didn't over do it. I guess the best part about it all is that I feel really close to my sister, Sarah. I love talking to them about her and telling stories. I know they miss her like me. But something really special is that we get to talk about them seeing and being with her again. I love the gospel. I'm glad I have the chance to teach it to them. I was even a little disappointed today when the Jehova Witnesses did not come by for our discussion. I guess I should have made an appointment with them, ha ha. Anyway, if they do ever show up, I'll blog about it.
